When most skiers stand at the top of a mogul run their eyes focus on the series of troughs that weave around each and every mogul. The typical thought process is about how to pre-plan a route so one is able to make quick turns through the troughs and still stay in balance.
The conceptual equivalent of focusing on the color black would be to visualize the troughs to be the primary feature of the mogul run. We have illustrated this in the mogul run photo below by highlighting where the troughs are:
