control | balance | tactics
Here is the bottom line on maintaining good balance when you are skiing in moguls or skiing in powder.
1. A patient turn initiation is essential. Keep your center of mass quiet and centered over your base of support (think feet).
2. Let gravity power the first part of the turn and then, once the skis begin to move into the fall line, you steer the skis throughout the balance of the turn.
3. Maintaining balance in moguls and powder will be easier with a narrow stance and feet and skis side-by-side (minimal lead change).
