For those of you who have been holding back on Aspen skiing due to it being perceived as a light snow year - those perceptions are now old. Snow has been dumping in Aspen for the last few days. Aspen Mountain has received 34 inches of white light fluffy powder in the last 7 days with 11 inches in the last 24 hours alone.
Here are the snowfall details - and you may want to bookmark this page if you are interested in following the daily Aspen Snow report: http://www.aspensnowmass.com/system/printable_report.cfm
If you'd like to experience Aspen like a local, sign-up for the new "Adopt A Tourist" program. Visitors fill out a short questionnaire indicating their interests and preferences while in town, and then the City of Aspen will pair 'adoptees' with 'adopters'. Aspen Adopt A Tourist participants receive an ID card they can use around town for discounts and other special deals.
We know that many of you would like to improve your mogul skiing technique and invest in skills to extend your skiing longevity. But, we also know that many of you are hesitant to make this investment given our current economy and are looking for Aspen spring break special deals. So, we're pleased to offer you a special one-time deal for two of our March mogul skiing clinics!
It's hard to miss this giant banner hanging in front of the Aspen Square Condominium Hotel! Warren Klug, father of Chris Klug, is the general manager of the Aspen Square and wanted to make sure everyone knew that son Chris made this year's Olympic Snowboard team.
While Chris is too young to be a Boomer, at 37, this is most likely his last Olympic bid. Chris is the first person to win an Olympic medal after surviving a liver transplant. We are all inspired by his passion for life and his sport.
Sure we run Aspen's favorite mogul and powder skiing program, but we can appreciate a perfect carpet of corduroy as much as the next guy. Did you know you can sign up to get first tracks down Aspen Mountain or Snowmass? Of course you'll need a lift ticket, but there is no charge for this awesome experience. Yes - no charge = free! in Aspen?!?
Have you bookmarked the Aspen Colorado Webcam ?.
We just checked Google analytics and can now report that we have visitors from 74 countries around the world tracking the snow conditions via our webcam.

Having fun in Aspen or Snowmass need not be expensive. Here are nine winter things to do while you are in town that won't cost you a dime:
Today is Klaus Obermeyer's 90th Birthday. Happy birthday Klaus! Born in 1919 in Germany Klaus moved to Aspen during the winter of 1947-1948 (I was one year old). Founder of the Aspen Colorado clothing company, Sport Obermeyer, Klaus is an amazing role model for all of us. Klaus still skis virtually every day in the winter and plays tennis virtually every day in the summer.
The Aspen Mountain ski resort is scheduled to open for the 2009-2010 season on Thanksgiving Day - Thursday November 26, 2009. The following is a status update released on November, 19.
