It's hard to miss this giant banner hanging in front of the Aspen Square Condominium Hotel! Warren Klug, father of Chris Klug, is the general manager of the Aspen Square and wanted to make sure everyone knew that son Chris made this year's Olympic Snowboard team.
While Chris is too young to be a Boomer, at 37, this is most likely his last Olympic bid. Chris is the first person to win an Olympic medal after surviving a liver transplant. We are all inspired by his passion for life and his sport.
Each December, the Chris Klug Foundation hosts the "Summit for Life" - an event that features an uphill race and hike up 3,267 vertical feet to the top of Aspen Mountain elevation 11,212 feet.... and takes place in the dark. Climbers start at 5:15 or 6 pm and it's quite a site to watch the headlight beams snake up the mountain.
Be sure to watch Chris compete on February 27th in Vancouver. All of Aspen/Snowmass will be cheering him on. Then start training for the 2010 Summit for Life! we'll see YOU in Aspen!
