Aspen Airport To Be Closed For 2 Months
Print This PageThe Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) will be closed to all air traffic from Monday April 9, 2007 through Thursday June 7, 2007. This closure is necessary so that the existing runway pavement can be rehabilitated. The 23 year old runway surface will be replaced with new grooved asphalt, improving runway drainage and increasing safety during wet conditions. The project will also include improvements to airfield drainage, runway safety areas and emergency vehicle access roads within the airport perimeter. For additional information call 970-920-5384.
