Swimming Pools In Aspen - The Inside Skinny Dip

Print this pagePrint This Page

Taking a swim after a day on the slopes or a day hiking or biking, or whatever your favorite activity may be, is a great way to stretch your leg and back muscles. Follow the swim with a soak in a hot tub and you are guaranteed a great night sleep! If you like to swim and are planning a visit to Aspen, here are the options for finding a pool.

None of the hotels in Aspen have indoor pools, however a good number of them have outdoor pools that are heated for use during the Winter. Here are the Aspen Hotels with heated outdoor pools:

- The Little Nell
- The Sky Hotel
- The Gant
- Mountain Chalet
- St. Regis
- Aspen Meadows
- Aspen Square Hotel
- The Molly Gibson

An alternative option to a hotel with a pool is to use one of the indoor local Health/Recreation Club Pools. Here's the rundown:

Aspen Recreation Center: Known locally as "the ARC", the Aspen Recreation Center is a beautiful facility located just south of the round-a-bout as you head toward Aspen Highlands. The ARC has two unique pools: one pool is a 25-yard, six lane 4-12 foot deep competitive pool with a one meter diving board. The second pool is a zero to 4-foot deep recreation pool complete with a two-story slide, lazy river and spray features which is great for children. The facility also has dry sauna, steam room and hot tub in addition to a full work-out room, ice hockey rink and climbing wall. visit www.aspenrecreationcenter.com for more information. The daily guest fee is $15/day.

The Aspen Club and Spa: While the Aspen Club is a members-only club, out of town guests can get a temporary membership. The Aspen Club has a nice indoor pool - smaller than the ARC - and has indoor and outdoor hot tubs and steam and saunas in the locker rooms. They offer free shuttle service around town which is great because parking is limited at the Club. Typically prices are approximately $65/day. Guests of The Little Nell Hotel, Hotel Jerome, Sky Hotel or The Gant can purchase discounted day passes - prices range from $30-45/day. If you rent a vacation home from Frias Properties, an Aspen Club guest pass is included with the rental. Another option for gaining access to the facility is to book a spa treatment. Spa treatments allow access to the whole club. For more information visit www.aspenclub.com.

The Aspen Athletic Club: This is a great affordable option for vacationeers. They have a 2 lane indoor pool with hot tub. Visit their website www.aspenathleticclub.com and click on "spa" to see a photo of the pool. They also have a link to "Online specials" where you can print a $5 discount coupon for a day pass lowering the cost to $15/day.
