Where We Ski: BUMPS FOR BOOMERS ® 4-Day and 3-Day introductory mogul clinics are held on Aspen Mountain which is located in downtown Aspen. Aspen Mountain offers a terrific array of mogul runs from beginner through expert. This wide choice of runs allows you the best opportunity to rapidly improve your mogul skiing skills. It is also the mot convenient mountain to Aspen's best hotels, restaurants and night life.
Meeting Location: We meet in the plaza level (street level) Aspen Mountain Gondola ticket office lobby which is to the immediate right of the stairs that go up from the plaza level to the gondola loading area. Look for us to be gathered either around the leather chairs just inside the entrance doors of the lobby (on a cold morning) or immediately outside the doors in front of the lobby (if it is not too cold). We will be in ski school uniforms (red jacket, light grey pants) with name badges. We will also have a BUMPS FOR BOOMERS welcome sign posted just outside the lobby.
Meeting Time: Clinics start promptly at 9:00 a.m. each day. Please arrive on time or slightly before 9:00 am so we can adjust ski bindings and have all clinic participants skiing as soon as possible.
Skiing Time: We will head up the mountain as soon as we have completed all administrative matters. We will ski until approximately 3:00 p.m. with a short lunch break mid-day. Additional breaks can be taken based upon the needs of each clinic group.
Teaching Staff: Our Ski Instructors are hand-picked Aspen/Snowmass Ski Pros with years of experience. We are an Adult Specialty Program of the Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen/Snowmass. Our coaches are all Boomers so they understand your needs.
Teaching Methodology: Our teaching methodology emphasizes good balance, good control and safe terrain tactics rather than fast skiing. You will learn new knowledge and new skills that will increase your enjoyment on the slopes.
You will learn to ski challenging terrain without the need for fast reflexes and panic moves. Newly-learned skills will reduce your anxiety. You will learn to ski with finesse. You will become much more efficient and able to ski longer with less fatigue. You will ski safer and have more fun. And all of this will directly translate into extending your skiing longevity.
Student-To-Coach Ratio: In order to guarantee that each participant receives individual attention we offer a low student-to-coach ratio. We staff each clinic based upon a maximum of four participants per coach.
Ski Equipment: We train on days 1 and 2 of the clinic using 95cm skiboards which we have found - in combination with our teaching methodology - to dramatically accelerate learning. We provide the skiboards at no additional cost. Just bring your ski boots and ski poles. Ski poles can also be rented locally if you prefer to leave your poles at home.
On Day 3 (for the 3-Day clinic) and days 3 and 4 (for the 4-Day clinic) you will have a coached transition of all techniques learned on ski-boards back to traditional length skis. Participants need to provide traditional length skis for the clinic for these days ... either by using their own skis or renting skis locally.
During your BUMPS FOR BOOMERS clinic you will most likely discover the benefits of skiing a shorter ski. With today's ski technology skis have become both shorter and wider- with no loss of surface area on the snow. If you choose to rent skis for the coached transition days we can recommend specific demo skis for you that will facilitate development of your mogul technique.
Lift Tickets: Lift tickets are not included in the clinic pricing unless you purchase a bundled clinic plus lift ticket package. Discount Aspen lift ticket orders must be received at least 10 days in advance of the first day of your clinic or private lesson due to Aspen Skiing Company order processing time.
If you ordered Aspen discount lift tickets through us, you will receive your tickets from us on the first day of your clinic or private lesson. Do Not go to the ticket window to get your tickets. If you require your lift tickets before the start of your clinic or private lesson, you must contact us to make arrangements for delivery.
All lift tickets use a radio frequency lift card. We've included a $5 refundable deposit for the card in the cost of your lift tickets. When you are done with the clinic, turn in your card at the Lift Ticket counter at the base of the gondola and this $5 deposit will be refunded to you.

4-Day vs. 3-Day Clinic: The first thing you should know is that the 3-Day clinic is the first 3 days of a 4-Day clinic. If you are trying to decide between the 4-Day clinic and the 3-Day clinic here is the short answer.
Good skiing is about developing new movement patterns that become automatic - to the point where you don't have to think about them. The more you repeat a movement pattern the more ingrained it gets.
With that in mind, the 4-day clinic will produce really good results because of the extra day of coaching and extra time you have to practice new movements under a watchful eye of a trained coach. We know from experience that our customers find that things really come together on day 4.
Our 3-Day clinic provides a good introduction to the movement patterns but you have one less day of coached experience and therefore you need to self-coach yourself following the clinic to cement the new patterns in your brain. The 3-Day clinic is offered primarily as an opportunity to learn to ski moguls for those constrained by time schedule and/or cost.
Both clinics are a tremendous value. You will learn an enormous amout about skiing in a very short amount of time. Many of our customers tell us that they learned more in one day skiing with us than they learned in a combined total of all the ski lessons they had previously taken. But, don't take our word for it. Read and watch our customer testimonials.
